In the previous blogs of Marketing Cloud Social Studio Series, we discussed about the capabilities of Social Studio and Publish component. This resource will help you to dig into details of component Engage.

What is Engage?

Engage is used to monitor the content that has been posted to social accounts using Publish or with matching topic profiles. Using Engage, you can see what others are replying to, commenting on, and sharing with other social network members. Posts in Engage can be responded to, marked for other engagement actions, and assigned to others on the team to follow up.

Engage uses tabs, which can contain one or more columns. A column can have one or more social accounts or  topic profiles. The social accounts and topic profiles can exist in multiple columns or can be contained within the same tab.

You can have a limited number of 30 tabs.We can click and drag the tab title to rearrange tabs into a new order. A tab can contain unlimited number of columns where more columns can be added, renamed, removed, rearranged, and filtered.

Engage uses Real Time Collaboration so you can see who else is viewing and engaging with the same posts avoiding duplication of post engagement.

The Engage module displays engagement activity from social accounts and topic profiles. Organized in tabs, important post information appears in columns by social accounts or topic profiles. You can engage with a post through Quick Action Icons without having to click into the post inspector.Every 30 seconds the entire column updates with the latest information.

When a post is selected in the column,a post inspector appears showing specifics of a post.Posts and Twitter Direct Messages with images appear in the column and in the post inspector.

Tabs play a key role in engagement and are sets of columns containing social accounts. The columns can be customized to create different views of data to meet a variety of use cases and filtering options.
